For a 1st time rocker you knocked it out of the park!
🙌
I got my stands on close-out sale (50% off), but the drawer mounts were either too expensive or not available anymore, so I just mounted two layers of plywood on the inner sides to hang the slides on. It also provides a clean looking side.
Nice! Adam added ply to the sides as well. 🙌
at a 1:1 with paint and water is a pine board sealed enough for a ceiling? Thank you

thank you - the ideal mix of application and demonstration is valuable
Thanks for watching!
The background music does express modernity, appropos. The volume's a bit much…
I'm making a kind of small rectangular pour in a home made mould (85mm x 85mm x 50mm deep). I want to do it in two pours but can't take it out to sand in between. Can I pour the second layer without sanding in between? Since there won't be any tooth for the second pour, should it be done whilst the initial pour is still slightly tacky?
Being that small, you could most likely do that all in one pour. If you did it in two pours, you would only need to scuff the top surface and wipe it clean before you pour the next layer. No need to demold to sand. Also, yes you can pour a second layer when it is just slightly tacky, near the end of the curing process without sanding. The timing is the tricky/important part in that kind of pro move. However, for the size you're doing, one full pour may be sufficient. That isn't a very large volume, especially for deep pour epoxy. So, overheating causing an exothermic reaction is very unlikely.
@@rockler than you so much for your reply. That good to know 🙂
@@rockler So, we did the pour and man, what a disaster. It had a full on exothermic reaction with bubbling and cracking (no smoke) even though it was only 4cm deep. I wish I could show you the photo but it doesn't allow me to post it.
That is very odd. Were you using deep pour epoxy like in this video, or were you using table top epoxy? Most table top epoxies are a 1:1 mix ratio. Deep pours are more commonly a 2:1 or 3:1 mix ratio. If you were using table top, then we misunderstood, as this video is about deep pour epoxy. Deep pour epoxies have a much thinner consistency and take a few days to cure. This slows the heat and gives time for bubbles to naturally release. Table top epoxy can usually cure in about 24 hours, and has a thicker consistency. It has a much shorter working time, and starts to set up within 30-60 minutes. Table top epoxy can usually only be poured in 6-7mm layers.
@@rockler It was 1:1 ratio, so likely table top epoxy. Lesson learned. 🙄
Why don't the guide shafts have springs?
The springs don't really help. They actually make it more difficult to drill down. The core function of this is to guide the drill straight down easily. So why would we want to fight spring resistance while trying to do so? We opted out of the spring, as it is unnecessary and honestly found it a bit of a nuisance. The top cross bar has a thumb screw on the side so that you can easily lock it in place when the drill is retracted.
Thanks!
🙌
They look very much interesting but what about thickness ? You might be using thinner or thicker wood . Does they have any adjustments ? Also do they have a name for them or brand that I can search . Thanks for sharing
Hello, these are our own Rockler brand under our Clamp-It line of products. they come in either 3/4" or 1/2" sizes. Here is a link to view them on our website. - www.rockler.com/rockler-clamp-it-clips-4-packs - If you are working with material thicknesses other than 3/4" and 1/2" plywood, then something like our Rockler Clamp-It Small Corner Clamping Jig, 2-Pack - www.rockler.com/rockler-clamp-it-small-corner-clamping-jig-2-pack - or our Rockler Clamp-It Assembly Square with Corner Clamping Jig - www.rockler.com/clamp-it-corner-clamping-jig-with-clamp-it-assembly-square - may be better suited for you. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
This pains me to say because I had to say this about a Ryobi product a few weeks ago, but this router table is hot garbage! I bought this table for $124 at Lowes - on sale from $250. I thought I hit the jackpot. What I realize now is that Lowes couldn't give this thing away unless some shcmuck - me - bought it. Well, I'm not a schumk but I am green at wood working and the important lesson I learned today? Steer clear of Kreg products. The clamps to fasten down the fence? Garbage. The instruction book is barely understandable. The packaging had most of the screws and parts in un-marked pouches so you had to almost guess which screw was called for in the instructions. The list goes on. I paid $124 for this item and in my opinion it was over priced by $100.
Of course if this is ONLY designed for Rocker ONLY size carbide cutters, seems it would force you to buy Rockler. Don't really have an issue with that but what if we already own some other brand?
Our Honing System might work with other brand carbide cutters. However, we can't guarantee it, as cutter sizes differ. If you would like more specifics on the product, please reach out to our product support team at 1-800-260-9663 or support@rockler.com. They'll be able to assist you. Thanks!
How do you ensure that the saw is at 45 degrees before lifting it into the crosscut sled? Do you remove the sled and test the tilt of the saw, and then lower the blade, and then raise it through the sled?
Yes.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Thanks for watching!
Super helpful, thank you!

I had ‘shop’ classes in Jr and Sr high school. I had minimal success in both but what I found was an immediate love of woodworking. For 30+ years I ‘dabbled’ in it till retirement, then the dam burst! For the last 40 years I’ve thrown myself into the ‘hobby’ and became a passable player with some skill so that I can teach grandchildren to appreciate the pieces of wood around them. My Rockler store is 175 miles away from me but I get to it once a year and spend spend spend! Not to mention mail orders too.
Woodworking is everything. Thanks for your support! 💙
ECO FRIENDLY WOOD VENEER!!! 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯‼️‼️
Great informative video!
This is a really good tutorial on using cope and stick bits. In my shop, I generally use multiple router tables when making raised paneled doors. I set up one for the stick cutter, one for the coping bit and one for the raised panel bit. I also use one with a cutter to eliminate tear out from the stick cutter, this is a prerequisite to the stick cutter and I never cut the stick without it. This is my trade secret.
Can you explain more about eliminating tear out on stick cuts? Where is the tearout and what bit do you use (and how)? From my limited experience I haven't really had any tearout issues with the long grain cuts.. but definitely have when coping the rails.
@@MrExamplename First, let me clarify. I also get tear out on my rails. The only way to minimize the tear out is to back it up with a sacrificial piece that is the same thickness as your rails. Also, cut the cope first, then the sticks. Now, what I was talking about the tear out on the stiles or stick pieces, occurs along the edge where the groove is located. This can happen on oak, maple, cherry and other hardwoods. I haven’t had any problems with Poplar. The trick to eliminate the tear out along the edge is to first make a pass with a 1/4 slot cutter that is exactly the same height as the stick cutter, but cuts only about 1/16 of an inch deep. If you look at a stick cutter, you will see it has the groove cutter that is 1/4 wide. With this slight groove, the stile cutter (stick) has nothing to tear out. But this also means that you will need 2 routers tables to do this. The router table I use for the stick cutter also has a Grizzly stock feeder attached to it so I get a continuous clean cut. I’ve been doing this for years. Hope is helps.
One tool i don't see as much being used is Collins clamps i used them as a finish carpenter.
does it fit bosch ra1171 bench top router table

Sleds on a table saw are a waste of time, space, and money. Use your miter saw. It is the correct tool for the job.
If it works, it works. There is no right or wrong in the world of jigs. If it cuts, it's accurate, and it's safe, then it's right. 🙌 Also, there are many that don't have a miter saw and consider them a waste of time, space, and money. Especially if they can do it all on their table saw with a jig that can store on the wall or behind a cabinet. To each their own, and we're here for them all. At the end of the day, if someone did some woodworking, it was a win for us all. 💙
The clamp wrench is by my opinion the best clamp in the world.
God I love rockler, and their videos are gold tier (or blue tier)
Thank you so much! 💙
I can't believe a Rockler guy would think Rockler clamps are the best of clamps. What a surprise. The end all be all, the ultimate, the bee's knees.
We'd probably have to fire him if he didn't. 🤷♂️ But regardless, he's right. 😆🙌💙
Wow !!!!! Love these.
Parallel clamps are the way to go for panel style glue up. F clamps are worst for that.
Thanks !
🙌
Can you buy two, and have 9’ on one side and 3’ on the other?
Yes, you can. That sounds like an awesome setup! 👏
As soon as you said the Clapton remark I subscribed!! Great work and you are beautiful.
I'm thrilled to see another woman wood worker, and a young one at that. I started over 20 years ago when I was almost as young and it was very daunting. I jumped at the chance to take a class that my city's P&R department offered and got to learn so many fun tools, including the lathe. I built a shed so that I could clear the garage to work. Alas, my husband keeps cramming our garage with crap like boats and cars😏. My proudest piece is the sewing center that my husband was supposed to build when he got laid-off but then his consulting work got in the way LOL. I also made a bed with huge drawers underneath for my daughter. As a woman woodworker the only thing I find harder for me than it is for the guys, so far, is wood splinters 😢 I so enjoyed your video that you have rekindled my woodworking spirit! Now I need to start plotting my garage takeover...
💙
Thank you. Incredible. Have a white wood barn door. Trying to figure out how to finish it. Will try this. 👍

If the saw accepts Dado blades, then yes.
Thank you

Can this weather as an outdoor table?
Eventually, left to the elements, the sun and nature will always win. That being said, there are UV resistant epoxies and out door finishes you can apply. However, they will require regular up keep.
can this last for 10,000 years?
We'll let you know in 9,994 years.
looks great when screwed with galvanized square steel
I thought it was the c02 that pops them not the heat.
The heat makes the air in the bubbles expand and pop the bubble.
I guess its ok as a one off gift for someone, but at $25 for the ice cream scoop kit , then the material for a handle, then the time in making the handle... I would have to sell an ice cream scoop for $60 to $70. Nobody is gonna do that these days.
You may be surprised, we have seen many customers very successful with turning custom handles and selling these from $40-$80 at craft fairs and online.
I have seen a type of slide where the extension slides out fully and when fully extended drops 1/2" to sit flush with the base. On releasing, it lifts up 1/2" and then can be slid back over the base. What is that type of slide called? PS: this is not for a drawer but for a wooden platform that can extend from 36" to a fully flat 79" when required.
